Dive receives a ZIM funding by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy with the aim of being able to simulate drive train systems (especially electric motors) including thermodynamic effects.

The first customer cohort including renowned automotive suppliers is part of the closed beta phase. Thanks to their feedback the software gets better every day. The hard work is starting to pay off.

Dive closes an investment round including the institutional investors First Momentum Ventures and Segenia Capital. Combined with the funding from IBB, this finances the seed phase of the company.

From July 2019 until March 2021 the company is funded by IBB with the Pro FIT project funding to extend the multi-phase functionalities and launch the SaaS MVP.

Partnering with Berliner Wasserbetriebe, waste water flows are analyzed to predict pipe designs. BWB is a great early adopter and the success story is still ongoing. WISTA, the host of the accelerator program, is also operator of the CHIC Charlottenburg Innovation Centre, the place where Dive's office is located.

In addition to some early turnovers the company receives the Pro FIT early stage financing from IBB along with an angel investment from Dr. Holger Eisenlohr, former Siemens senior executive.

The core technology shows a lot of potential but is not mature enough to be sold as a product. The team does what has to be done: Project business to further develop the software and validate the market. Back down to earth.

After a few years the SPH code shows potential for industrial application. Felix joins the founding team and the spin-off is supported by EXIST. The research partners BSH, TU Berlin and Beuth remain supportive partners in subsequent years.

Frustrated by long hours of time-consuming experimental work, Dive’s co-founders Pierre and Maik team up to research an in-house particle-based simulation code and to build a small group of ambitious scientists. One of the team members is future co-founder Johannes.
